Electrical installation certificate
An inspection, not just a signature.
The electrical installation certificate confirms the installation is safe and compliant with the standard. Utilities require it for new connections, reconnections, and periodically depending on how the space is used.
What it covers
- Visual inspection of boards, earthing and cable routes
- Measurement of earth resistance, insulation resistance and fault loop impedance
- Functional testing of residual current devices
- Record of findings and remedial work required
- Preparation and submission of the certificate with its annexes
When you need it
- Your electricity supplier asks for a new or renewed certificate
- The previous declaration has expired
- The use of the space changes or the installation is extended
